Leftovers

Can't beat the Youtube inpired backyard workout for the Saturday after Thanksgiving.  I was able to channel my inner Rocky while bear crawling, performing lunges with "Christ"-like lumber over my shoulders, and push cars.  Katie decided to crab walk with me amidst jeers from Betsy and Jimmy.  I love her for that.  She kept up throughout the whole workout an over the  next few days she was feeling some muscles in her legs she never felt before.

Katie doing her best Tim Tebow.

Meanwhile, back in Boston, Berman was able to crank out a nice non-chalant 9 miler before his post T-Day work week began.  At the pace he is going he may be able to run this thing on Christmas.  I hope he takes advantage of the altitude out in Denver during the weekend of the Pats vs. Broncos to log some miles.  It's all about that Rocky Mountain Runner's High.

Thanksgiving Sweat Session

Though Team Dick-Man did not spend time together over Thanksgiving that didn't prevent them from lacing em up.  I was able to participate in the Christopher Dailey 5k Turkey Trot this year while visiting my family in Saratoga Springs, New York and thanks to my uncles who covered the entry fee, help support the need for recreational space in Saratoga for youth athletics.  Meanwhile, Josh was able to get out and build an appetite for some stuffing with Sean Fay during a run in Duxbury.

Sunday November 20th

This run was a challenge.  Our hydration plan or lack thereof was our downfall the morning following an evening with John "Bucky" Goss, John Vacca, and the recently engaged Samuel Burke, but as always Team Dick-Man found a way to finish...for the kids. Beautiful Sunday.  Best one of the year by far.  Josh learned about Smoots for the first time.  For all you Boston and non-Boston people out there who don't know about Smoots see attached to boost your Boston trivia knowledge.

Check out our run.  (4898 Smoots approximately)

Wednesday November 16 2011 5:45 AM

In light of the recent Bruins win streak, it seems fitting that the first thing I heard when I got in my car to meet Josh this morning at 5:45 AM for a nice loop around the Charles was this on the radio.  Who needs an hour to wake up.  Give me five minutes and I am out the door and hitting the pavement.  Same idea with a band aid, you gotta just rip it off quick.  I met Josh at the Double Tree in Cambridge and he was not hard to miss.  OSHA issue "REED and REED WIND SERVICES" shirt was glowing half a mile away as he approached.  Eat your heart out Jackson.  Team Dick-Man is going H.A.M.

Bruised Sunday Run

First run back from a severe thigh contusion sustained two weeks ago.  Berman came out to Brighton to run a nice 5.5 miler over by the Charles.  Kid has a great stride.  Our commitment is already rubbing off on others too.  My roomie Kev got out and got the legs moving with us despite a late night.  He normally only runs 3 miles, but when he saw passion and drive of Team Dick-Man going 5.5 he couldn't refuse. We also got our donation page up and running check it out. Catch the fire.

Team Dick-Man Crushes the BAA Half Marathon

BAA Half Marathon October 13th 2011. Toasted. It is hard to see the flames on our sneakers in the daylight and I think its pretty obvious there was not much time to snap a photo.
